What size should a photo strip be?

How do I design a photobooth overlay?
Start from a blank canvas or a template, place your photo slots where the camera feeds should show through, then add text, frames, logos, and decorations around them. Export the result as a transparent PNG and import it into your booth software as an overlay.
What file format and resolution should I export for my booth software?
Export a PNG with transparency at 300 DPI equivalent — for a 2×6 strip that is 600×1800 pixels. PNG preserves the transparent photo cutouts, which is what allows the live camera feed to show through your design. JPG is not recommended because it cannot store transparency.
How do transparent photo slots work?
Photo slots are shapes that are punched out of the exported PNG as real alpha transparency. When you load the overlay into your booth app, the camera images sit behind the overlay and are visible through those cutouts — so your design frames the photos instead of covering them.
Does this work with booth apps like LumaBooth, DSLR Booth, or Darkroom Booth?
Yes. Exports are standard transparent PNGs at industry-standard sizes, so they can be imported as overlays or templates into any booth application that accepts PNG overlays — including LumaBooth, DSLR Booth, Darkroom Booth, Snappic, and similar apps.
